Nowadays it’s more popular to be worldly than Godly. The scary part is it’s a lot of the Christians who are friends of the world. Christians are taking the world’s point of view on social issues such as gay marriage, abortion, marriage, relationships etc.
God tells us in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Jesus has called us to be the light of the world but some of us have become dim. We think that if we take God’s position on an issue that the world won’t like us but we must realize we-we not here to be liked by the world.
In James 4:4 Jesus tells us,” You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
If you are a friend of the world then you are an enemy of God’s it’s that simple!
That doesn’t mean that you can’t have friends on earth it means that you can’t fall in love with the world. Somebody might say what do you mean to fall in love with the world?
Celebrating worldly holidays, listening to secular music, drinking alcohol, and many more. A lot of Christians use Bible verses to make doing certain things, such as drinking, smoking, sex before marriage, multiple wives, etc. okay but if you learn the history behind that verse and actually know what it is about then you won’t go wrong.
God has called us to be the salt of the world in Matthew 5:13,” “You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, how will it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.”
God gives us a description so clear of what worldly people look like to him that there is no doubt that he doesn’t tolerate it. One huge issue is that a lot of Christians go to churches where they mix worldly things with the church.
I know that sounds crazy because churches are on planet earth so how can they not be apart of the earth. This is explained in Romans 12:2.
” Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”.
That verse simply means that just because you live on planet earth doesn’t mean that you have to act like the people on planet earth.
Everybody was created by God but that doesn’t mean everyone lives by God’s rule.
Matthew 13:30 tells us that,” Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”
We share this earth with non-believers and believers so we are not to act like the nonbelievers. The problem is so many believers are acting like non-believers that the non-believers don’t see a reason to give their life to Christ because they act just alike.
